Passing of Gaeton Vincent Conte

It is with sadness that I am letting you know that our classmate, Gaeton Vincent Conte passed away Sunday, 15 March 2020.   A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, 20 March from 11:00 to 12:00 at the Elmwood Cemetery and Mausoleum, 600 M.L. King Jr. Drive in Birmingham.

Another opportunity to mingle with our classmates.

I have reserved an area at Carrigan's Public House on Tuesday, 10 March from 6PM till closing.
​Carrigan's is located at 243
0 Morris Ave in downtown Birmingham.  It is at the corner of Morris Ave and 25th Street with the entrance on Morris Ave.
​There is a free parking lot across the street from the entrance on the southside of Morris Ave.  My recommendation is to enter from 1st Ave North at 25th Street since...

Passing of Sister Mary Grace Mecke

Sister Mary Grace Mecke (age 93) died peacefully this morning (October 21, 2019) in the Benedictine Sisters Sacred Heart Monastery infirmary.  Her Sisters had been keeping vigil and she passed tranquilly into the arms of God.
 
Reception of the Body followed by Vespers of the Dead: Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 5:00 PM in the monastery chapel, followed by Visitation until 8:00 PM.

Passing of James Michael (Mickey) Crouch

It is with sadness that I am letting you know that our classmate, James Michael (Mickey) Crouch of Hoover passed away Wednesday, 16 October from complications associated wth Alzheimer's at UAB West Hospital.  Visitation will be Sunday, October 20th at Southern Heritage with a Mass on Monday, October 21 at 10:00 at Our Lady oft the Valley Catholic Church.

Annual Alumni Appreciation Event

John Carroll is  holding its annual alumni appreciation event in conjunction with Homecoming 2019, on Friday, 27 September at 6:00 pm.  Pat Sullivan Field, Alumni Tent.

There is a meal option for $10.0/ person, payable at the Alumni Registration Tent.

Absolutely Alabama

They have decided to close the resturant and the  last day is Sunday, May 26.


Our classmate, Paul Gagliano and his wife Rosemary, owners of the “Seafood and Chicken Box” in Trussville have some good news. The restaurant will be featured by Fred Hunter in his “Absolutely Alabama” segment.

It will air on WBRC on Friday, 3 May during the 9pm News and again on Sunday, 5 May during the 7-8am News.  

Drop by and see them at their restaurant in the Trussville Shopping Center.
